The client required an outsourcing partner to create plumbing detailing and coordination for a school they were working on and provide clash detection for electrical and fire-fighting parts.
BOP’s Custom Approach for the Clash Detection and Plumbing Detailing
Using REVIT, BIM 360, Primavera, and Navisworks, the team adhered to a step-by-step process. We received the PDFs of the 2D drawing through the Primavera project management tool. We completed the 3D Modeling using REVIT BIM. All other teams working on the electrical and fire-fighting parts upload their tasks to Autodesk BIM 360, through which the coordination was done. We performed the clash detection and also completed the necessary modifications to the model. There were weekly meetings for construction, structural, heating, and hatchback, electrical and fire-fighting.
Covering a build area of six floors with more than 3, 00,000 sq. feet, the client required drafts of the plumbing model in REVIT software using the pipe routing and sizes supplied, as well as 3D modeling and coordination. We were also required to identify any clashes with electrical and fire-fighting installations and make the necessary modification. As it was an ongoing project, three members and two managers were thoroughly involved in completing it successfully.
